Looking for shoes to make KFO bearable.

I wear a KFO on my right leg (Knee to foot brace that has to be built into my shoe. This foot is so much smaller than my right foot due to atrophy that I can't walk in the brace if I buy shoes that fit my left foot which swells from damage caused by a vascular surgery. Just replacing the shoe on the brace is over $100 without the expense of buying two complete pairs of shoes. I have fallen three times in the last four months because I can't wear the brace as is. So here I am one sprained left ankle and two separate fractures on my right foot later. I'm finally ready to bite the bullet and wear the brace full time. I prefer a lace up tennis shoe, but at this point I'm ready to try just about anything.
